How do you benchmark your portfolios? Can you give me a sample of a performance statement?

When benchmarking client portfolios we use proprietary indices directly out of Morningstar. The indices Morningstar creates represent the world of mutual funds that fit a specific portfolio allocation. Benchmarking in this fashion allows for an accurate picture of how your portfolio is doing relative to the world of portfolio managers with a similar risk tolerance.
